Founded in 1997, Les Écumeurs du Saint-Laurent is a small company offering whale-watching excursions based at Les Escoumins (on the North-Shore - Manicouagan) whose primary mission is offering cruises aboard zodiacs in the Tadoussac, Charlevoix and the Saguenay fjord areas to discover the marvellous world of the St. Lawrence River’s whales such as its landscapes, its history and its underwater fauna. Its second mission consists in actively participating in research on the marine environment paying special attention to marine mammals. Boasting a team of experienced captains specialized in whale-watching and in the interpretation of the way of life of these great marine mammals. We offer boarding from Les Escoumins located in one of the world’s most beautiful whale observation areas where pristine nature meets the Parc marin du Saguenay – Saint-Laurent.

Having previously offered departures of our whale-watching cruises from Île-Verte and Trois-Pistoles, Les Écumeurs du Saint-Laurent now offers several departures from Les Escoumins to account for the carefully monitored changes in the zones occupied by the region’s whales resulting from climate change.

Our fleet is composed of two small capacity boats (dinghy) that can accommodate 12 passengers under the supervision of seasoned captains. We have been operating in the Tadoussac area for over a decade where we offer guaranteed success on an unforgettable cruise alongside the whales.

Les Escoumins, which can be discovered at www.quebecweb.com/tourismeescoumins/ and www.tourismemanicouagan.com/fr/fiche.asp?id=1211, is a small and picturesque village situated near Tadoussac and the Grandes-Bergeronnes in the Manicouagan region. Located where populations of Great Whales, marine mammals and cetaceans such as the Blue Whale and the Common Rorqual (Finback Whale) are the densest, Les Escoumins is the hidden jewel of Tadoussac. The village, found tucked between the mountains and the sea, offers you a vast choice of lodgings – motels, inns, country cottages, camp-sites and B&B’s – as well as numerous restaurants.
