How can we offer the lowest prices, affordable packages and guaranteed satisfaction to our passengers? The answer lies in the size of our company which has only two boats that we operate ourselves year after year. We are a traditional business which offers personalized service that raises the quality of our whale-watching tours. Our customers are offered excursions aboard a zodiac to observe whales for periods of two, to two and a half hours because whales are often found very close to our boarding location in Les Escoumins, near Cap-du-Bon-Desir.

Our dinghies have been specially designed to observe whales in the St. Lawrence River and are comfortable under every circumstance. They can accommodate passengers of all ages. Whale-watching excursions are plentiful in Charlevoix and Manicouagan but the Cap-de-Bon-Desir area, along with the head of the Laurentian Canal are areas that are particularly prized by whales. In Les Escoumins, these large marine mammals, such as the Blue Rorqual, the Common Rorqual, and of course, Belugas and smaller rorquals swim right up to the rocky reefs and can be observed from the shore. Visitors can also observe large seal populations. The waters near the shoreline reach depths as impressive as 300 metres which allows whales to swim quite close to the rocky reefs, often within a few dozen metres of them.

Our boats – the Harfang des Mers 1 and 2 – are of the zodiac model. They are specially designed for whale-watching cruises both in the fjord and out at sea. They can accommodate a dozen passengers of all ages and are certified by the Canadian Coast Guard.

We provide our customers with equipment like Mustang life-jackets for your greatest comfort. Gloves and caps are also available for those who wish to use them. The average temperature while on the water is 11 degrees. We recommend you wear warm clothes, enclosed shoes and trousers.

The Ecumeurs du Saint-Laurent guarantees the satisfaction of their passengers. Safety measures are mentioned before each departure and the crew members take care special care to ensure the well-being of their passengers throughout the entire experience, from boarding to docking.
